Why do we do this?

By way of introduction, I am Charlotte, I come from Belgium but I have lived in Malta since last April. To be quite honest, I always wanted to go and explore the sister island, but due to work and other commitments, I could not find the right opportunity to go out there and explore properly.

However, that all changed when I saw an advert for the Gozo Half Marathon. Since I love to run I thought that this would be a perfect opportunity to combine two things I love to do – running and exploring, so I decided to sign up. For me it was my first competition, so my first half-marathon, and I could not be more excited.

Don’t get me wrong, it was tough. The route, although breathtakingly stunning, is tough and challenging. But when you cross that finish line it is all worth it. It surely was an amazing experience!

I can say that I have surpassed myself thanks to the fantastic organization and well-thought route.

As I wrote before, the route allowed me to explore Gozo in a unique manner. I can say that I saw a beautiful landscape, which heightened my love for Gozo even more!

Without a doubt, I look forward to participating in the next edition.
