From 35 runners on a February morning in 1977 to 1,700+ athletes from 57 countries — the same road, the same spirit, a bigger family. This is il-Ġirja t'Għawdex: the country's longest-running and most-loved road race.

We are a group of volunteers from the Xaghra Youth Centre, delivering Malta's first-ever road race year after year. Beyond race day, we promote a healthy lifestyle, give every participant a unique Gozitan experience, and celebrate the island that started it all.
From 35 runners on a February morning in 1977 to over 1,700 athletes from 57 countries today — it's still the same idea.

Every Run Gozo entry funds something bigger than race day. From building a sports arena in Guatemala to backing Maltese charities, we've turned a Sunday-morning road race into a way to give back.
Whether you're chasing a PB or just bringing the kids — there's a start line for you on Sunday, 25 April 2027.
A volunteer race doesn't run on goodwill alone. Huge thanks to the partners, supporters and contributors who make 2027 possible.
