Due to the current COVID-19 uncertainties, and for the continued safety of all athletes, we have taken the difficult decision to change the format of the 2021 Teamsport Gozo Half Marathon, in order to provide an exciting running event, yet ensure complete safety for all participants.
Following the success of the 2020 #RunGozo Virtual Run, in which around 400 athletes had participated, we decided to shift the 2021 event entirely virtual, in a more organized and advanced manner.

Race Format
All athletes will have two weeks (24 April – 09 May) to complete their run and submit their results, together with proof of their run (run report from a fitness app/watch) on this Active system. All athletes have the possibility to submit one run report, so choose your timings according to your best result. You are also invited to submit your run in our #RunGozo Community.
All athletes are FREE to run ANY route, as long as run the exact pre-defined distances (21.1K, 10K, 5K, 4K and 2K) and a race report has to be submitted in the Active system. For a route to be approved it has to be our official route and has to be within 20 meters of the stipulated distance. A nice variety of prizes will also be given, randomly.
Partners
Our amazing partners have, once again, completely understood this decision, which was taken in view of our shared respect for the health and safety of all athletes.
Therefore, we would like to thank our main sponsors (Teamsport, Diadora, San Michel, Gatorade, NatureValley, Den Express Couriers, Gozo Village Holidays, Agius Watches and Madaboutvideo) and our partners (Ministry for Gozo, the Xaghra Local Council, EcoGozo, VisitMalta, Heritage Malta, and the Gozo Sports Board) for their continued support during these difficult times.
Let’s run forward!
